Every single moment of this intimate Firehouse wedding and summer Chicago garden reception was so beautifully planned. It was so clear how loved and celebrated both Holly and Deep were by their friends and family. Their day was such a perfect reminder that dresses, flowers, decorations and details can make a wedding day lovely, but the most lovely thing of all is love itself!
Holly and Deep met through Bumble on February 26th, 2020 at a brewery in Schaumburg, IL. They have been inseparable ever since. Haha. Due to COVID hitting and being mandated to work from home. They basically decided to live together from mid-March, onward. Together, they are “parents” to their cat (and favorite being), Raja.
They both come from two very different cultures and were raised very differently. Hence, their relationship is bitter and sweet like every other. However, they cannot live without each other. They both love each other so much that more often than less, they compromise and work towards understanding the other. They are very keen to see where life takes us and want to live a simple, happy, and joyful life in a beautiful little family of our own.
Deep decorated their apartment with a lot of lit candles, and he had “Love Someone” by Lucas Graham playing in the background. A video montage of their relationship played in the background. Holly walked into the door, after coming home from work—he had her also swing by a friend’s house (a set up) so that he could have more time to prepare—and immediately noticed all the candles, saw ‘Will you marry me?’ written on a chalkboard, and heard the music playing. He then walked out of the back room, took her hands, and brought her over to the rug (in front of the couch in the center of our living room). There he went down on one knee, professed his love and devotion and asked Holly to spend the rest of her life with him. She was in tears and I said, “Yes!”
We started off this gorgeous summer day with Holly and her bridesmaids getting ready in the bridal suit at Firehouse Chicago. I find this time to be some of the most precious times of a wedding day. Firehouse Chicago is an amazing wedding venue that mixes rustic and vintage. After Holly and Deep were done getting ready we headed outside for the first look in front of the huge ivy wall. Once, we did the first look we moved right into wedding portraits which thanks to Firehouse Chicago made it super easy. They even had a traditional firepole, which they both took the opportunity to use.
Located in Edgewater, Firehouse Chicago is one of my favorite wedding venues. The venue an old renovated firehouse and has an incredible rustic feel. The indoor space is able to be used for either your ceremony or reception, just like their outdoor courtyard space. This kind of flexibility is wonderful as you can really set up your day exactly how you want it!
