Winter Wedding at River Roast

I first met Mallory and Sam when I photographed their engagement session last summer on the Riverwalk. I love getting to know my couples by doing an engagement session before the wedding. It helps break the ice and we are already friends by the time the wedding rolls around. I loved how Mallory and Sam interacted together during their engagement session. It was all so effortless for them and you could really see the love. Mallory and Sam choose to get married on Mallory’s parents wedding anniversary. What a romantic tradition! Their winter River Roast wedding in Chicago was fill with soo much love and laughter.

This wedding was absolutely amazing. We started the day at the Westin River North, where Mallory and Sam got ready for their big day. We all hen headed to Holy Name Cathedral for a holiday themed romantic wedding ceremony. After the ceremony we braved the cold weather and headed to the Wrigley Building for some photos. The Wrigley Building is one of Chicago’s most iconic landmarks and has incredible architecture. It also happens to be one of our favorite spots in the city—we love how it looks when it’s decked out for Christmas!

We then headed to the Chicago Union Station and took advantage of the warmth and the beautiful architecture. We stopped to take once last night photo outside in front of the Chicago Theater before heading to the reception at River Roast. The venue is located right on the Chicago River and has a gorgeous view of the city skyline. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed with an industrial vibe, making it perfect for an urban winter wedding!

Reception

The reception was full of fun moments: I saw friends catching up over cocktails; listened to awesome speeches; and we captured the bride and groom as they shared their first dance as husband and wife. I loved seeing everyone having such a great time together!

All in all this River Roast winter wedding was an incredible day!
