Grant Park Engagement : Joey & Chris
As a wedding photographer, every session brings its own unique charm and excitement. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing Chris and Joey’s engagement session in Grant Park. Nestled on the south side of the park, near their home, we embarked on a journey to freeze moments of their love against the backdrop of nature’s beauty.
Our adventure began with their adorable furry friend joining us for some heartwarming shots. Here are three tips I swear by when photographing engagement sessions with pets:
- Bring Treats and Toys: Keeping the pet engaged and happy is key. Treats and toys not only serve as rewards for good behavior but also help in grabbing their attention for those perfect shots.
- Patience is Key: Pets, much like humans, have their own moods and moments. Being patient and allowing them to get comfortable in the environment ensures more natural and relaxed photographs.
- Incorporate Their Personality: Just like Chris and Joey’s dog added a touch of playfulness to their session, let the pet’s personality shine through. Whether it’s running around or simply cuddling up, capturing these candid moments adds depth to the photos.
With the sun painting the sky in hues of gold, we transitioned to Millennium Park for a change of scenery. The iconic Lurie Garden provided a lush green backdrop, perfectly complementing the love radiating between Chris and Joey.
As the day bid adieu, we were blessed with an epic sunset, casting a romantic glow over our final shots. And what better way to conclude a magical day than with a captivating night shot, capturing the city’s twinkling lights as a backdrop to their love story.
