The Metropolitan Wedding – Kris & Grace

Chicago’s skyline shimmered under a moody sky, a perfect backdrop for the love story that unfolded at The Metropolitan on the 67th floor of Willis Tower. Capturing their intimate ceremony and vibrant celebration as your documentary wedding photographer, Sarah Nader, was an absolute privilege!

First Look

Though the day began with a touch of rain, we didn’t let that dampen the spirits. Our first stop was the iconic Chicago Board of Trade, where Kris awaited Grace for a first look in front of the gold doors. The anticipation crackled in the air, and when their eyes met, the city seemed to hold its breath. It was a moment of pure joy, captured in all its raw authenticity.

But the rain had other plans, prompting us to pivot. Fortunately, Chicago boasts hidden gems like the Chicago Cultural Center, a stunning architectural masterpiece bathed in natural light. Here, we captured the warmth of their connection amidst the grandeur of the venue with ornate arches and soaring ceilings.

As the clouds parted, we ventured outside to take photos in front of the mural outside the Willis Tower, basking in the fleeting sunlight before heading up to The Metropolitan.

Metropolitan Wedding

The 66th and 67th floors of the Willis Tower transformed into a breathtaking sanctuary for their ceremony. Filipino wedding traditions, infused with close family and friends, created a unique and heartwarming atmosphere.

Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for – the sunset on The Ledge. With the city sprawling beneath their feet and the sky ablaze with fiery hues, Grace and Kris embraced, their love echoing in the vastness of Chicago. These sunset portraits at The SkyDeck were pure magic, capturing the epic beauty of their union against the breathtaking backdrop.

Reception

Back inside, The Metropolitan’s reception space dazzled with panoramic views and sparkling city lights. Heartfelt speeches flowed, laughter filled the air, and the dance floor was a whirlwind of joy. It was a celebration of love, family, and the undeniable magic of Chicago, all unfolding amidst the sky-high elegance of The Metropolitan.
