Odyssey Country Club Wedding: Victoria & James

I can’t wait to share the amazing journey of Victoria and James’ Odyssey Country Club Wedding. This day was filled with so much love, tradition, and excitement, making it an absolute joy to capture.

Getting Ready

The day kicked off at Victoria’s parents’ home in Shorewood. I arrived to find a bustling house, filled with family and friends getting ready. One of the highlights was the Skup, a Serbian tradition where the groom’s family gathers at the bride’s home to celebrate before the wedding. There was so much fun dancing and lively music—it set such a joyful tone for the day! Before joining the Skup, Victoria had a heartfelt first look with her dad. It was such a touching moment that brought tears to everyone’s eyes.

Ceremony

Next, we headed to St. Archangel Michael’s Serbian Orthodox Church in Lansing for the ceremony. Serbian weddings are some of my favorites to shoot because of the vibrant colors and rich traditions. The ceremony was beautifully traditional, filled with meaningful rituals and stunning details. After the ceremony, we took advantage of a break in the rain to snap some family formals and wedding party photos right there at the church.

Then, it was time to make our way to the Odyssey in Tinley Park for the reception. Victoria and James’ Odyssey Country Club Wedding was nothing short of spectacular. Since James is a golf pro, we couldn’t resist taking some photos on the golf course before joining the cocktail hour. The lush greens made for a perfect backdrop and captured James’ love for the game beautifully.

The reception was a whirlwind of heartfelt speeches, starting with the wedding party and the dads, leading up to the couple’s first dance. The energy in the room was incredible, with traditional Serbian music filling the air and a dance floor that stayed packed all night long. Everyone was having the time of their lives!
