The Art Institute of Chicago is one of my favorite locations for engagement sessions. The timeless architecture, world-class art, and unique settings offer endless photo opportunities. From the Grand Staircase to the incredible galleries, it’s a dream backdrop for any Chicago engagement photographer. Jessica and Justin’s session started bright and early – a smart move because the museum can get quite busy. Here’s a pro tip: If you’re planning your own Art Institute of Chicago engagement photos, consider purchasing a yearly membership for $160. Not only do you get unlimited access to the museum for a year, but you can also enter an hour before the general public. This perk is invaluable, especially if you’re dreaming of photos on the iconic Grand Staircase without the crowds.

Jessica and Justin had a few must-see spots on their list. We captured romantic moments in front of “Sunday in the Park” and Grant Wood’s “American Gothic,” two pieces that truly spoke to them. The Tiffany stained glass windows provided a stunning, colorful backdrop, and of course, the Grand Staircase gave us those classic, elegant shots. I loved how their enthusiasm for art made every photo feel genuine and meaningful.

After exploring the museum, we headed up to the rooftop for breathtaking skyline views. The cityscape added a modern touch to their session, perfectly complementing the timeless beauty of the museum. To wrap up, we strolled over to Lurie Garden, where the fall colors created a warm and romantic atmosphere.
