Engagement at Chicago Art Institute: Caroline & Luke

One of my favorite things about being a Chicago engagement photographer is getting to capture love stories in some of the most iconic spots in the city. Caroline and Luke’s engagement at Chicago Art Institute was nothing short of magical. We met early in the morning, before the museum officially opened, which is hands down the best way to experience this incredible space. If you’re considering an engagement session here, I highly recommend purchasing the museum’s yearly pass. It allows access for three people to enter the museum one hour before it opens to the general public—giving us the perfect opportunity to shoot without the usual crowds.

Engagement at Chicago Art Institute

We started our session by exploring some of the museum’s classic spots, including the breathtaking grand staircase. With its elegant architecture and soft, natural light, it’s always a favorite backdrop for engagement sessions. From there, we wandered through the galleries, stopping to take photos in front of the famous Monet paintings. The combination of timeless art and the couple’s love for each other made for some truly stunning images.

Engagement sessions are such an important part of the wedding journey. Not only do they provide you with beautiful photos to use for save-the-dates and wedding decor. They also give you a chance to get comfortable in front of the camera before the big day. After finishing inside the museum, we stepped outside into Grant Park, where we stumbled upon the most epic fall tree. The vibrant autumn colors created a dreamy, romantic setting for their final portraits. It was the perfect way to wrap up the session.
