Alexandria and Mark’s wedding day in Chicago was filled with meaningful moments, iconic city views, and an incredible celebration at Pazzo’s at 311. From the start of the day through the packed dance floor at their Pazzo’s at 311 wedding, it was such a joy to photograph every part of their story. As a Chicago wedding photographer, I get to witness so many beautiful celebrations, and theirs truly stood out.
The day began at the Congress Hotel, where Alexandria got ready surrounded by her closest people. The energy in the room was calm and excited, even as the heat of the day started to settle in. One of the most emotional moments of the morning was Alexandria’s first look with her dad. It was quiet, heartfelt, and full of love, the kind of moment that reminds me why I love documenting weddings. Shortly after, Alexandria and Mark shared their first look with each other. Seeing them together for the first time was incredibly special, and they chose to read private vows to one another, creating a moment that felt intimate and grounding before the rest of the day unfolded.
Mark is from Ireland, and Alexandria and Mark met while she was there, which made their story even more meaningful. After their first look, we headed out into the city for portraits. We started at the Planetarium, where the skyline views were absolutely epic, especially on such a bright summer day. Even with the heat, they were total troopers, and the photos captured that classic Chicago backdrop so perfectly.
Mark loves Chicago architecture, so our next stop was the Board of Trade. As a Chicago wedding photographer, I love when couples choose locations that actually mean something to them. The strong lines and historic feel of the Board of Trade added such a timeless look to their portraits and balanced beautifully with the softer skyline views from earlier.
Their ceremony took place at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and was filled with emotion and tradition. One of the most touching moments was Alexandria’s grandfather assisting with the service. It was such a lovely, personal touch and made the ceremony feel even more meaningful for their families. Despite the heat, the ceremony felt warm in all the right ways.
The celebration continued with their Pazzo’s at 311 wedding reception. Pazzo’s at 311 is such a great venue for couples who want a classic Chicago feel right in the Loop. With its grand architecture, warm lighting, and spacious layout, it was the perfect setting for dinner, speeches, and a packed dance floor. The energy in the room was incredible, and it was clear how loved Alexandria and Mark are by everyone there.
From start to finish, this Pazzo’s at 311 wedding was full of intention, love, and joy. Being part of their day as a Chicago wedding photographer was truly an honor. Congratulations to Alexandria and Mark. What an amazing day and an even better start to this next chapter together.
