As a Chicago wedding photographer, there are certain weddings that stand out in my memory, and Audrey & Alex’s Bridgeport Arts Center wedding is one of them. Their vision of a French, classic, coastal wedding came to life beautifully on a crisp November day. With a slight chill in the air, it was the perfect fall backdrop for a timeless love story.
Audrey and Alex opted to forgo getting ready coverage. They choose instead to begin their wedding day photography with a first look. Their first look on the 606 bike path was deeply sentimental to them. This was where they first met and had their very first date. It was the perfect place to capture such a meaningful moment. We took advantage of the cool bridge architecture and were lucky to catch the El train passing by in the background, adding an iconic Chicago touch to their portraits.
From there, we made our way to the Adler Planetarium, one of my favorite spots for capturing both nature and the stunning Chicago skyline. With just the two of them, the session felt intimate and relaxed—allowing them to soak in the moment together without distractions. The crisp fall air, Lake Michigan in the distance, and the golden hour glow made for some truly epic portraits.
Back at the Bridgeport Arts Center, their wedding party was waiting for us, ready to celebrate the couple. I absolutely love shooting at the Bridgeport Arts Center. The industrial-chic aesthetic, the stunning loft space, and the warm, intimate ambiance make it a dream location for a Chicago wedding photographer. Audrey and Alex’s ceremony took place after dark, which allowed me to create a moody and romantic lighting setup that enhanced the cozy atmosphere. Guests were greeted with hot toddies, a perfect touch for a November evening, as they waited for the ceremony to begin.
The ceremony itself was heartfelt and elegant, followed by a lively cocktail hour. The reception kicked off with the couple’s first dance, and one of the most touching moments of the evening was the father of the bride’s speech. Every detail, from the soft candlelight to the warm embrace of friends and family, made this wedding feel incredibly special.
Audrey & Alex, your wedding day was nothing short of magical. Congratulations to you both! Thank you for letting me be a part of your beautiful day at the Bridgeport Arts Center!
