The Ivy House Wedding: Sarah & Jeff

Sarah and Jeff’s The Ivy House wedding was one I’ll be thinking about for a long time. As a Milwaukee wedding photographer, I get to see all kinds of weather, but this day felt extra special. They traveled all the way from California to celebrate near family in Milwaukee, and they were welcomed with the most magical snowfall. It snowed heavily all day, and honestly, it made everything feel even more meaningful and fun to be a part of.

I started the morning at The Ivy House with Sarah and her bridesmaids while they got ready. The space there is so good. I love the getting ready rooms and all the natural light mixed with the warm, moody lighting throughout the venue. Even with a tight timeline, we made it work and stepped outside for some fun group photos in the falling snow. Everyone was such a good sport about the cold, and those moments ended up being some of my favorites from the day.

While I was with Sarah, my second shooter spent the morning with Jeff over at The Pfister Hotel. It was great being able to capture both sides of the day, especially since everything moved pretty quickly. One of the most meaningful moments for me was Sarah’s first look with her dad right before the ceremony. It was such a genuine, emotional moment and a really special way to start the next part of the day.

Saints Peter and Paul Parish Ceremony

The ceremony took place at Saints Peter and Paul Parish in Milwaukee, which felt like the perfect setting for them to officially become husband and wife. Afterward, we headed back for their The Ivy House wedding reception. Since the sun was setting fast, we kept portraits simple and stayed at the venue, which worked out perfectly. As a Milwaukee wedding photographer, I always appreciate when a venue like The Ivy House offers so many great spots for photos without needing to travel far, especially on a winter day.
