As a Chicago documentary wedding photographer, I thrive on capturing the genuine emotions and intimate moments that unfold throughout a couple’s wedding day. Leah and Matt’s brunch wedding at River Roast in Chicago was no exception. Their story, filled with thoughtful details and an unwavering focus on celebrating their love, reminded me why I love documenting weddings.
The morning began at Leah and Matt’s home, where the air buzzed with excitement and anticipation. Witnessing Matt help Leah into her wedding dress was a moment filled with tenderness and love, offering a glimpse into the deep connection they share. The getting-ready process, usually a whirlwind of activity, felt intimate and romantic, setting the tone for the rest of the day.
Before heading to Milton Lee Olive Park, Leah and Matt exchanged gifts, adding another layer of personal meaning to their wedding day. Standing in front of the iconic Chicago skyline, they read private vows to each other. It was a heartfelt and emotional exchange witnessed only by the vastness of the city. Their words, filled with love and commitment, painted a picture of their unique love story.
After capturing portraits at the park, it was time to head to River Roast, where the day’s festivities truly began. A unique touch to the timeline, the cocktail hour prefaced the ceremony, allowing guests to mingle and enjoy the lively atmosphere. The ceremony itself, officiated by Leah’s father, was a beautiful blend of tradition and personal touches, reflecting the couple’s personalities and values.
Following the ceremony, a delightful brunch spread awaited the guests, featuring an array of delicious food and refreshing beverages. The laughter and conversation filled the air as everyone relished the opportunity to celebrate Leah and Matt’s union.
After the River Roast festivities, the day continued with a photo session in downtown Chicago. The Wrigley Building and the Riverwalk provided breathtaking backdrops for portraits, capturing the dynamic energy of the city. Finally, Leah and Matt joined their guests on a Wendella Boat cruise, where the celebration reached new heights.
As the boat cruised along the Chicago River, guests savored delicious pizza and donuts. They then danced to music while enjoying the scenic views. The twinkling city lights painted a magical backdrop for the evening, creating a truly unforgettable experience for everyone onboard.
Leah and Matt’s wedding was a beautiful celebration of their love, filled with thoughtful details, genuine emotions, and a spirit of fun and adventure. It was a privilege to document their journey and capture the unique moments that made their wedding a truly special occasion.
With out a doubt this River Roast brunch wedding was a blast to be a part of. May the joy of this wedding day, captured forever in these photos, bring lasting happiness to all who experience it.
