I’m excited to share with you the beautiful love story of Joey and Chris, as captured through my lens at their unforgettable wedding at the iconic Blackstone Hotel in Chicago.

Getting Ready at The Blackstone Hotel

Let me start by saying that the Blackstone Hotel holds a special place in my heart – it’s one of my top favorite reception venues and getting ready hotels in the city. The vintage charm and endless photo opportunities inside make it a dream location for any wedding photographer.

As I arrived at the Blackstone Hotel on the big day, I was greeted by an air of excitement and anticipation. One of my favorite moments to capture is when couples help each other get ready for their wedding. It’s incredibly intimate and romantic, and Joey and Chris did not disappoint. I had the privilege of witnessing timeless moments as Chris helped Joey into his suit and Joey returned the favor by fixing Chris’s bow tie. The boys looked dashing in their classic black and white tuxedos.

Grant Park

Once the guys were dressed and ready, we had a heartwarming first look with the moms. We then took advantage of the hotel and captured some portraits inside the room. Eventually, we ventured across the street to Grant Park for some stunning wedding party photos against the backdrop of Chicago’s skyline.

Ceremony Time!

Afterward, we all loaded onto a bus and made our way to Grace Episcopal Church in Oak Park for the wedding ceremony. The guys were nervous but excited as they exchanged vows and rings in front of their loved ones. The grand exit after the ceremony was a joyful moment as Joey and Chris greeted all of their friends and family.

We wasted no time in capturing family formals outside the church before heading back to The Blackstone Hotel for cocktail hour. The wedding venue was absolutely stunning. Adorned with lush greenery and boasting a balcony in the reception space that provided the perfect backdrop for memorable moments.

The speeches were a delightful mix of hilarious and intimate, setting the tone for an evening filled with love and laughter. And let’s not forget the first dance – it was truly one to be remembered. The crowd packed the dance floor when it opened.
