When I first met Hannah and Clyfford, I knew their Woman’s Club of Evanston wedding would be one to remember. We kicked off the day at the Hilton Orrington in Evanston, where the couple was getting ready together in the same room—a rare and intimate start to the day. I love when couples break tradition and make their day truly their own.
As soon as I arrived, I started capturing all the beautiful details. Hannah’s bouquet was one of the most vibrant and colorful arrangements I’ve seen this season—definitely a favorite of mine! And her dress? Wow. It was a stunning white and gold gown with a 1920s vibe that fit her personality perfectly. Watching her mom help her into it was such a touching moment. After she was ready, we headed downstairs for the first look with Clyfford, and I could feel the anticipation in the air.
Next, we made our way to the Northwestern campus for some bride and groom portraits. The Lakefill was our first stop, where the couple posed by the lake, surrounded by beautiful trees. We even caught a glimpse of the Chicago skyline, which made for a perfect backdrop. Hannah and Clyfford were so natural in front of the camera—so much fun to photograph! Afterward, we headed to Deering Library, one of my favorite spots on campus. Its iconic architecture is always a joy to shoot, and it added a timeless touch to their photos.
The ceremony took place at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, and it was my first time shooting there. The church was breathtaking, with a gothic charm that gave off serious Harry Potter vibes. Hannah sings in the church’s choir, so having the choir there to sing during her wedding was incredibly special. The emotion in the room was palpable—tears were definitely shed. And I loved that Hannah and Clyfford walked each other down the aisle. It was a beautiful and unique touch.
After the ceremony, the couple shared a champagne toast with the choir members in the church courtyard before we dove into family formals. Then it was off to the reception at the Woman’s Club of Evanston. This venue is a gem—so much character and charm. The different spaces for cocktail hour and the reception kept things lively and engaging. And the food? They had food stations, including a mac and cheese bar, which was a hit with everyone!
The band they chose was absolutely kickass. They had the dance floor packed all night long. We even snuck away for some quick sunset photos around the property, capturing a few more quiet moments between Hannah and Clyfford. Their guests were a fun-loving bunch, and the dancing continued late into the night.
Hannah and Clyfford, thank you for letting me be part of your unforgettable Woman’s Club of Evanston Wedding. It was an absolute blast, and I wish you both a lifetime of happiness!
