A Magical Fall Montrose Bird Sanctuary Engagement with Casey and Boyd
As a Chicago engagement photographer, I’m always on the lookout for locations that combine natural beauty with that unique city vibe, and I’ve been dying to shoot at Montrose Bird Sanctuary for years. So, when Casey and Boyd suggested it for their engagement session, I couldn’t have been more excited!
We kicked off their session at the sanctuary, and wow—fall was truly showing off. The vibrant orange and yellow leaves created the most stunning backdrop for these two. Casey and Boyd’s connection was incredible to witness. They were so relaxed and playful with each other, which made my job as a photographer an absolute dream. Whether they were laughing, sneaking sweet glances, or holding each other close, every moment felt authentic and filled with love.
After wandering through the colorful trails of Montrose Bird Sanctuary, we made our way to the lakefront. There’s just something about the Chicago skyline at dusk that feels magical. The soft glow of the city lights mixed with the expansive Lake Michigan view gave us some truly breathtaking shots. I even played some of their favorite songs, and they couldn’t resist dancing along the shore—such a fun and personal touch to their session! I love adding music to my sessions to help my couples relax.
To wrap up the evening, we headed to Bar on Buena for a drink and a few cozy bar photos. It was the perfect way to wind down after such an incredible session. As a Chicago engagement photographer, moments like this remind me why I love what I do
I had the best time photographing Casey and Boyd’s Montrose Bird Sanctuary engagement. Congratulations to this sweet couple! I can’t wait to celebrate with them next year at their Salvage One wedding—it’s going to be amazing!
