Summer Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool Engagement: Austin & Madison

Madison and Austin’s summer Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool engagement session was nothing short of magical. As a Chicago engagement photographer, I always feel a spark of excitement when I get to shoot in this hidden gem of Lincoln Park. The Lily Pool is currently closed for reservations, but couples can still get a photo permit to shoot there, which means you get the whole space to yourself. It truly feels like a private oasis in the middle of the city.

We began our session wandering through the lush greenery and stone pathways of the Lily Pool. Madison and Austin were naturals in front of the camera, climbing onto rocks, sharing quiet moments, and letting themselves just be present with each other. There is something timeless about this space. The way the water reflects the trees and the sound of birds overhead created the perfect setting for their summer Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool engagement.

North Avenue Beach

As a Chicago engagement photographer, I am always looking for ways to tell a couple’s story through both the location and the light. After exploring the Lily Pool, we walked over to North Avenue Beach just in time for sunset. Nothing compares to the view of the Chicago skyline glowing in the evening light. It is truly the best in the world. Madison and Austin laughed, cuddled, and watched the sun dip below the horizon, and I could not help but think how lucky I am to capture these milestones for my couples.

This summer Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool engagement will always stand out to me. Not just because of the beauty of the setting, but because of how much joy Madison and Austin radiated together.
